Today, there are many different Qigong systems. Shaolin Neijin Qigong, also known as Shaolin Neijin Yizhichan, is an authentic Qigong system with roots in Chan Buddhism. Its development began around 1,500 years ago at the Northern Shaolin Monastery. It traces back to the monk Bodhidharma (Damo) and has been passed down to this day through a clear lineage of masters. Later, the method was preserved and further developed at the Southern Shaolin Monastery.

In early 1960, Shaolin Neijin Qigong was first introduced to a wider public by the Grandmaster of the 18th generation, Ashui Que. After him, his successor, Grandmaster Jinsheng Yao, contributed significantly to the further spread of the method. As a representative of the 20th generation, Grandmaster Buyin Zheng is bringing this tradition to the West. The method combines meditation, energy work, and the training of body and mind in a transmitted, clearly structured system.

The Most Important Exercises

Horse Stance

Of central importance in Shaolin Neijin Qigong is the horse stance, a meditative standing exercise that calms the mind, opens the meridians, and ensures the free flow of Qi.

Standing Exercises

Within the system, there are advanced standing postures such as Tiger or Dragon, which deliberately guide the flow of Qi in such a way that blockages are released naturally.

Finger Exercises

Integrated into the horse stance, special finger exercises selected by the authorized master are practiced. They act directly on key acupuncture points, open them, and make it possible to absorb external Qi and release internal Qi outward. Finger exercises are a prerequisite for effective energy transmission.

Seated and Lying Exercises

They also serve to build and strengthen inner power and have regulating effects on the body, breathing, and mind. Seated and lying exercises can be practiced both by healthy people and by those whose weakened constitution does not allow prolonged practice while standing.

Qi Mobilization

A special component is Qi mobilization (energy transmissions). In this process, the Qigong master serves as a kind of open channel through which healing Qi can flow into the meridians of a person who is ill or blocked. In a meditative state, healing impulses are transmitted that activate and harmonize the energy flow and support the recipient’s bodily self-regulation.

Who It Is Suitable For

Shaolin Neijin Qigong is suitable for people of all ages and health conditions. The exercises are adapted individually and noticeably promote well-being, inner balance, concentration, and stability.
