Meditation on a Mother's Love

People who have love in their hearts can experience profound happiness. True love possesses a power that can heal body and mind and exert a positive influence on one’s surroundings. Love is capable of giving life new meaning and allowing people to transcend all known boundaries.

Compassion for People Through the Transformation of Suffering

Almost everyone has experienced a situation in which they were angry with their parents. The causes of this anger often lie hidden deep in childhood, as parents sometimes transfer their own anger and pain onto their child out of inattentiveness or overwhelm. If one succeeds in overcoming these causes, the relationship with one’s parents will relax and a harmonious connection will emerge.

The Transformation of Anger

The greatest blockage to a kind heart is anger. When the feeling of anger rises within us, body, mind, and soul are not relaxed and we leave the state of inner peace. In our heart there is now no room for love and compassion – neither for ourselves nor for others.

Meditation on Impermanence

Think of the mountains of the Himalayas or the vast, grass-covered plains of a steppe. They seem to endure forever and yet, just like us, can only exist for a certain time. Everything will gradually pass away. This applies to the great and small things in the world and even to our planet. When we contemplate impermanence deeply, we discover what truly matters in life.

Meditation on Developing Compassion

Compassion gives us confidence, hope, and comfort. It is a powerful force that connects us with other people, with animals, indeed with all living beings – and it is the foundation of peaceful coexistence. Compassion is one of the most genuine facets of love.

The “Meditation on Developing Compassion” helps us find protection in turbulent times and enables us to make the world a little better through our own thinking, speaking, and acting.

Letting Go Through Observing the Impermanence of All Living Beings

Even a hundred years ago, there were many people, animals, and other living beings. Most of them have since departed from life. In our time there are again numerous people, animals, and other living beings – yet in a hundred years almost none of them will still be here. All future living beings will also follow this natural law and pass away. Contemplating impermanence gives strength to build tolerance and gratitude. It provides motivation to make the world more peaceful and harmonious.
